not only would agave nectar make it actually vegan, it would be better for people who can’t eat sugar because it’s low-glycemic.
like everyone said, this recipe shouldn’t say it’s vegan if it calls for honey. either don’t call it vegan or use agave nectar instead.
can Agave syrup sometimes called agave honey or agave sweetener be used instead of honey? Would that make it truly vegan?
I agree, what is the point of claiming to be vegan if you eat honey? That is exactly like vegetarians who eat fish. IT could easily be substituted though.
Without the honey, I like the recipe, but when she said “Reminds me of the peanutbutter-honey sammiches” I lol’d. So peanutbutter and honey remind her of peanutbutter and honey. Wow.
Honey is NOT Vegan, Expert village is NOT expert
Take this damn video off.
your videos are badly managed, far too short. why not have 5 vidoes made into 10 mins? and then hard to find them in the right order
yeah i mean hunny isnt vegan sooo yeah uhhh kinda leading to vegetariani agree with maruchan512
umm honey, you are using honey, this obviously not VEGAN. more like vegeterian.
i think expertvillage is down a few ‘experts’
Haven’t you heard that the International Vegan Police will go “nuts” if you deviate from the “exact vegan rules”?
I suggest a few more additions to the rules that vegans already have to follow.
1)No whole grains (may contain insects or eggs). If you don’t believe me, let your grains sit a while in the cabinet.
2)No cultured or fermented products (yeasts and bacteria are living organisms too)
3)Eating foods that were fertilized with animal waste or waste from non vegan sources.
Thanks,BT
Yeah seriously amongst most vegans honey is considered NOT to be vegan. Don’t claim something is vegan when it’s not.
but raw unprocessed honey is better for you than syrup or any dairy product could ever be. if you’re a vegan purely for ethical reasons, which i think is kinda strange but to each his/her own, then honey should be off limits.
The honey could easily be replaced by maple syrup. Although, that is just as sugary, if not more.
In addition to it not being vegan, honey is also not “sugar free”
No, honey ain’t vegan. Though I’m one of those who don’t really find honey that bad, so even though I’m ‘vegan’, I sometimes use honey. I never use any milk or egg products though, so I label myself as ‘vegan’, because that covers my diet. I know many vegans are very strict when it comes to honey, and that’s great as it’s really not a vegan product.
HONEY AIN’T VEGAN! But it’s still great you’re posting some vegan recipes! Keep ‘em coming!
what the hell — honey is not vegan. this girl is so clueless, i’m amazed. this is such misinformation here. expertvillage, remove the ‘vegan’ label from this recipe. this is a VEGETARIAN recipe.
Yeah seriously!
No, honey is not vegan. Honey is a by-product of bees.
great recipe, i am recently a new vegan, is honey considered vegan?
