Primal Blueprint Recipe: Primal Nutella by Gillian Fritzsche
This is a primal food recipe video for Homemade Nutella (aka Primal Nutella, aka Vegan Nutella) made for Mark Sisson’s Primal Health Challenge over at MarksDailyApple.com It’s both a primal recipe and a vegan recipe, oddly enough. It’s good for gluten-free diets, low-cal, vegetarian, zone… whatever! It’s just nuts, cocoa, stevia, and coconut oil. Enjoy the video! @peopleschamp2011 Hi! I get plenty of things from Trader Joe’s but I don’t shop there exclusively.
@fritchbeetle do you get your stuff from trader joe’s?
A pint’s a pound a world around…so a pound is 2 cups, not 3
so stupid….
Does the sweetener have to be Stevia? Can Agave work?
SO excited to try this! Thanks!
It’s a little less sweet than Nutella and slightly less chocolaty. If you want a sweeter taste, you could use either more stevia or use powdered sugar and a bit more of it. And for a more chocolaty taste, you could use either more cocoa or melted baking chocolate.
Thanks for the nut-shucking tip!
Where do all of my comments go? Sorry if I end up posting twice.
Does this taste just like Nutella? I’ve already roasted 1 cup of hazelnuts for a different recipe, but I want to try yours because there’s no dairy in it and I love coconut oil.
BTW, after you roast the nuts, you can place them into a clean towel and roll them around to help get the skins off.
Thank you for the recipe!
5 stars for the mere fact this recipe is nutella
Hm… Great question! I used TJ’s Pure Stevia Extract which is bound with a dairy product to fluff it up. It’s definitely not the dried stevia plant. Some day I’d like to try that though!
Hi, was that dried stevia plant or the purified swetening part of stevia called “Reb A” ? It looks delicious!
this is GREAT! Awesome job, I can’t wait to try it out!
i hate nutella but i’d lick it off your nipples.
“i ate the one that fell on the floor”
that made me smile hehe
How sweet! Thanks! I’m thinking of posting another recipe. This is encouraging.
You hit the ball out of the park!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I think you’ll love it! I hope so!
OMG! This I’m gonna try! Just looove nutella…. But don’t eat ordinary sugar….
Thanks Jayel! I hope you enjoy the nutella if you try it.
Great recipe, amazing host – enjoyed the video immensely.
Your coconut oil should melt to liquid in a summer-heated kitchen, but if you’re fortunate enough to have central A/C, then I’d suggest melting the coconut oil over low heat in a saucepan first. Enjoy!
Also, I’ve heard of some people who use coconut milk instead of oil. Haven’t tried that myself. But perhaps it’s an option for you.
Oh wow! Pestle? That’s hilarious. Thanks!
Awesome, thanks for posting
OMG, can you BE any more cute?
This looks great. I’m gonna make this ASAP.
Oh, and it’s pestle, not pedistal.
