I have to disagree with lots of comments against “not wanting real meat like taste”. There are Buddhist chefs in East Asian countries who genuinely WANT to make their dishes taste like meat and do so quite similarly to actual meat. If anything most American vegetarian food I have tasted is pure disgusting bland shit. Nobody can ever get that shit right it seems.
It is usually fortified with vitamin B12 (which vegans dont get a lot of). It also has a slight cheesy/nutty flavor to it. Not 100% necessary, but I like it a lot. Thanks!
What does the nutritional yeast do? I would try this even though it doesn’t look very appetizing (LOL) Tofu is supposed to be especially good for women so I was looking for ideas. Thanks for posting. Good instructional video.
Looks scrumdidlilly-umptious! Lovely, def will try.
To all the comments below – Vegans and vegetarians don’t eat pigs and come up with delicious healthy alternatives , not only because they don’t like the taste , but because they don’t want to contribute to the systemactic abuse and killing of other animals , whilst slowly killing the planet and ourselves in the meantime.
In fact, vegans who love the taste of bacon and who give it up are selfless and inspiring.
Just a thought.
Vegans call meat murder. Half of the vegan products try to COPY the TASTE of milk products and meat. You have vegan cheese, vegan milk, vegan burger, vegan hot dogs, vegan ground beef, vegan chicken, vegan riblets, vegan bacon and vegan eggs.
Murder? I guess vegans like the TASTE of murder….just not the idea.
@greenfrogreid because i have a conscience
why not just make real bacon?
@slightlyderanged does it taste like bacon ?
@slightlyderanged glad you liked it!
I tried making this…and it is SO GOOD! i now make myself BLT’s once a week…thanks so much for the video

I used Tamari and called it Soy Sauce
I use bits for salads only, definitely wouldnt want them in a BLT.
Just use organic imitation bacon bits for the ultimate BLT analog.
If you want fried tofu brown and crispy, use Tamari, not soy sauce which is too salty.
You can spin tofu in a salad spinner also.

To a bacon lover like me…it’s blasphemy. I tried it….it tastes like smokey teriyaki flavored tofu. Not an unpleasant taste but nothing like bacon.
I guess you lied when you said….”It tastes just like bacon…(8:50)”

Thanks a lot – it’s VERY similar to everydaydish’s, but I’ll get on it!
Only thing I can say is……you’ve forgotten what real bacon smells, looks and tastes like.
Great vid! Please make another one for tofu scramble! Thanks
